Bayern Munich on course for treble after DFB-Pokal win

Bayern Munich beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 to lift the DFB-Pokal at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on Saturday evening.

The victory saw Hansi Flick's side complete a domestic double having already won the Bundesliga title in June.

David Alaba opened the scoring for the Bavarians with a quickly taken freekick in the 16th minute before Serge Gnaby added a second a few minutes later.
Robert Lewandowski netted Bayern's third shortly before the hour mark when his shot was fumbled over the line by Lukas Hradecky.

Moments later, Sven Bender headed Leverkusen back into the game, but Lewandowski struck with a minute to go to ensure the victory.

Kai Havertz rounded off the scoring with a penalty in stoppage time but Bayern never really looked like letting their lead slip.

With two trophies in the bag, Bayern can now turn their attention to the Champions League in August and a historic treble.
